Admission

The Shonan Fujisawa Media Center (SFC Media Center) is not open to the general public. However, thanks to cooperative agreements, residents and workers of Fujisawa City, and persons affiliates with other universities and institutions are able to access the library collection under the following conditions .

Residents and workers of Fujisawa City

An SFC local library card is required for entering the SFC Media Center.

  • Persons issued with an SFC local library card may enter the SFC Media Center and borrow material from the library collection. Entering or borrowing from other campuses' Media Centers with this card is not permitted.
  • You can apply for an SFC local library card by presenting proof of identity (e.g., driver's license) at the Information Desk on the first floor from 9:15 a.m. until 30 minutes before the SFC Media Center closes.
  • Cards are issued for a cost of 1,000 yen.
  • Cards are valid from the date of issue until the end of that academic year (the maximum validity period is April-March the following year).

Persons affiliated with Waseda University (Full-time faculty members and staff, undergraduate and post-graduate students)

Waseda University students with a Waseda University Student ID Card, and full-time faculty members and staff with a plastic ID card may enter the SFC Media Center and access the library collection. Please present the appropriate card at the entrance, explaining your request to enter the library. A letter of introduction is not required.

  • Waseda University faculty members who have a local library card that was issued at Mita Media Center may enter the SFC Media Center, and borrow material from the library collection.
  • Use of the computer network, databases and AV equipment is not possible.

Persons with a "Kanagawa Prefecture University Libraries Shared Access Card"

  • You may enter the SFC Media Center, view the library collection, and make photocopies of library material upon presentation of a "Kanagawa Prefecture University Libraries Shared Access Card".
  • Please contact your university library directly if you have any questions related to the issuing of a "Kanagawa Prefecture University Libraries Shared Access Card".

Students, faculty members, and staff from other universities

You may view/photocopy specific material at the SFC Media Center if the said material is not held in your university library collection. Please present a letter of introduction issued by your university library, together with proof of identity (student / faculty member / staff ID card) to use the SFC Media Center.

Notes:
  • Consult with your university library in advance regarding the borrowing status and days of use for the material you wish to use. Viewing of material is only available on weekdays.
  • A separate letter of introduction is required for each day you wish to visit the SFC Media Center.
  • The letter of introduction should include detailed information about the material you wish to use.
  • Consult with your university library if you wish to borrow or request material according to the cooperative agreement.

Members of the general public, others

You may view/photocopy specific material at the SFC Media Center if the said material is not held in your local library collection. Please present a letter of introduction issued by your local library, together with proof of identity to use the Shonan Fujisawa Media Center.

Visiting the Shonan Fujisawa Media Center

  • Persons interested in applying to Keio University and persons researching architecture who wish to visit the SFC Media Center should go to the Information Desk on the first floor with proof of identity.
  • Others who wish to visit the library should contact the SFC Media Center General Affairs Section (Tel: 0466-49-3430, extension 52525) and enquire in advance.
