Using NDL digitized materials

The National Diet Library (NDL) is digitizing its collections to preserve and make them available for use. Digitized materials can be accessed the following ways:

National Diet Library Digital Collections

You can use the Digitized Contents Transmission Service at SFC Media Center.

Eligible users of this service

Faculty, staff, and graduate and undergraduate students affiliated with Keio University.

Correspondence course students who have registered for a bachelor's thesis.

(It cannot be used by Keio alumni and the general public).

Viewing digitized materials

Location: Database Search Corner on second floor of SFC Media Center.

     ※ Please sign up at the Reference Desk to use.

Hours: Weekdays (Monday through Friday) 9:15 AM to 5:00 PM.

    ※The service cannot be used on weekends, holidays, and when the library is closed.

Rules: ・You must have an CNS account to use the service. After logging in to a designated terminal       with your CNS account, a library staff member will log in to the service for you.

    ・You cannot print out materials yourself. You cannot connect devices such as another computer or USB flash drive, perform a screen capture or take a photograph of the screen, or scan the material.

Printing digitized materials

If you wish to print out digital materials that you viewed, you must submit a request. Use the same form you would use for requesting a photocopy of printed material. When filling out the form, write "NDL digitized material" in the comment box.

※Only the library staff may print out material.

※It will take 1-2 working days to fulfill the request.

※The fee is ¥30 per sheet for black & white, ¥100 for color.

 It will be printed out on A4, B4, or A3 size paper, whichever is closest to the actual size of the material.

※The amount that can be photocopied cannot exceed the amount allowed by the Copyright Act.
