Eligible Users and Library Access

Note: Anti-theft equipment is installed at the SFC Media Center exit and may affect the operation of medical equipment in the immediate vicinity. If you are concerned about passing through the exit gate, please consult with the Information Desk staff.

SFC Undergraduates, Graduate Students, Faculty and Staff

  • A Student ID or Campus Card is required to enter the Media Center.
  • SFC undergraduates, graduate students, faculty and staff may use all of the facilities and equipment at the SFC Media Center.

Students, Faculty and Staff from Other Keio Campuses

  • A Student ID or Library Card is required. To obtain a Library Card, inquire at the Information Desk.
  • Computers at the SFC Media Center may only be used by persons holding a Shonan Fujisawa ITC account. To obtain an account, inquire at the ITC Office.

Correspondence Course Students

  • A Student ID or Library Card is required. To obtain a Library Card, inquire at the Information Desk.

Keio Shonan Fujisawa Junior and Senior High School Students

  • A letter of introduction from the Keio Fujisawa Junior or Senior High School library is required.
  • Junior and senior high school students are not permitted to use the computer network, databases or AV equipment at the Media Center.

Keio University Alumni

  • Keio University Alumni may enter the Media Center with any one of the following: Alumni Library Entry Pass (permitting entry to the Mita, Hiyoshi, Science and Technology, Shinanomachi, and SFC Media Centers), SFC Media Center Library Card (permitting SFC Media Center entry and book borrowing only), or the Keio Card (credit card).
  • Alumni Library Entry Passes and SFC Media Center Library Cards can be purchased at the Information Desk on the 1st floor. An annual fee of \500 is charged. The card expires at the end of the current school year (March 31).( Personal identification is required when applying. A card will be issued the same day. (Weekdays until 19:30, Saturdays until 18:30)
  • SFC Media Center Library Card holders may borrow books from the SFC Media Center, but cannot enter or borrow books from other Media Centers. Use the SFC Media Center Library Card Application Form here (PDF file)
  • Computers at the SFC Media Center may only be used by persons holding a SFC ITC account. To obtain an account, inquire at the ITC Office.

Residents of Fujisawa City

  • Fujisawa City residents are permitted to enter the Media Center with a SFC Media Center Library Card. The card is valid for one year, from April 1 through March 31.

How to Apply for a SFC Media Center Library Card

Eligibility

  • Persons age 18 and over residing or working in Fujisawa City (including 1~110 Tsutsumi, Chigasaki City) are eligible to apply.
  • Students at other universities, vocational schools, or high schools are not eligible.

How to Apply

  • Apply in person at the SFC Media Center. Applications by proxy or by mail are not accepted.
  • Bring any of the following currently valid documents that prove you are a Fujisawa resident or work in Fujisawa:
    driver's license, employee ID card, passport, health insurance card, or juminhyo (must be issued no more than 1 month before application date).
    If you cannot provide any of the above documents, please consult with the Media Center staff in advance.
  • An annual fee of ¥500 is charged.

Notes
  • Only materials at the SFC Media Center may be used. The card does not provide access to the Library of Nursing and Medical Care or other Keio Media Centers.
  • Computers and AV equipment may not be used.
  • Visitors may use the reading areas only for reading or viewing Media Center materials.
    Restrictions may apply to the use of the reading areas during examination periods.
  • There is no parking available at the Media Center. Please use public transportation.

Waseda University Students, Faculty and Staff

  • Students, faculty and staff of Waseda University may enter and read materials at the SFC Media Center, students by showing their Student ID, and full-time faculty or staff by showing their Waseda University ID card. Please inform the Media Center staff of the purpose of your visit.
  • Waseda faculty members may borrow materials from the SFC Media Center if they have a Library Card issued by the Mita Media Center.
  • Waseda faculty, staff and students may not use the computer network, databases or AV equipment at the Media Center.

Students, Faculty and Staff of Other Universities

  • Students, faculty and staff of other universities (except Waseda University) who wish to use SFC Media Center materials must bring an introduction letter issued by their university library and a Student ID or other personal identification.
  • Architecture students or researchers who wish to tour the Media Center building are permitted to enter the Media Center one time only with personal identification.
  • Waseda University students and faculty may enter and read materials at the SFC Media Center. Waseda faculty may borrow materials from the SFC Media Center only if they have a Library Card issued by the Mita Media Center.

Kanagawa region university library consortium's Library Card Holders
(Kanagawa ken-nai daigaku toshokan sougo kyoryoku kyogikai, Kyotsu Etsuran-sho)

  • You may enter the SFC Media Center if you have a Kanagawa region university library consortium's Library Card ("Kyotsu Etsuran-sho").
  • Cardholders may only read materials at the Media Center, not check them out.

Other Users

  • Other visitors who wish to tour the SFC Media Center should contact the SFC Media Center Office in advance by phoning 0466-49-3430 (ext. 52525).
  • Entry to the SFC Media Center is not permitted for purposes other than touring.
